Joint Radar-Communication System Design Based on FDA-MIMO Via Frequency Index Modulation

The index modulation based on multiple-antenna architecture is a prospective information embedding approach for the joint radar-communication system (JRCS). Current investigations mainly focus applying spatial and frequency in phased array (PA) radar multiple-input multiple-output (MIMO) radar. In this article, we devise an strategy by combining phase random diverse (RFDA) MIMO radar, which can perform range angle estimation, not be accomplished dual-function systems PA Considering time-variance of transmit waveform, propose multichannel receiver JRCS. For subsystem, impact assignment transmit-receive virtual beampattern Cramér-Rao bounds (CRBs) are analyzed. communication, ML detector with maximum ratio (MRC) assistance adopted to improve accuracy decoding. Extensive numerical results presented verify feasibility effectiveness proposed scheme.
